Terrace Minor Hockey honours long time members
Steve Smyth, President of Terrace Minor Hockey is pleased to announce
that the Association has awarded it's highest honour on 4 Terrace residents.
The status of Honorary Life Membership has been awarded to the following
people.
> Mr Cliff Sharples, who has served as an outstanding coach,
an executive member and a respected adviser to successive presidents and
executive members. Mr Sharples was also instrumental in the founding and
continued success of Terrace Minor Hockey Summer Hockey School.
> Mr Brian Downie, who has served in a long term executive capacity
and provided leadership and a positive force for the continued good operation
of the association. Mr Downie is also involved in the Hockey School and
as past president continues to provides sound advice and dedication to
the members of the Association.
> Mr Jake DeJong, past executive member, long time sponsor and
advocate for the youth of Terrace Minor Hockey. Mr Dejong was also involved
in the Summer School for a long period of time. Mr DeJong has also supported
Terrace Minor Hockey through his business generosity over the years.
> Mrs. Mona Nester, who has also been a long time executive member
and who continues to provide support and advice to the current executive.
Mrs. Nester has provided outstanding dedication and leadership and has
been an outstanding advocate for the children of Terrace Minor Hockey.
These people will be publicly recognized by the placement of a plaque
in the Terrace Arena trophy case and a personal presentation to follow
later this year. The executive thanks these people for their commitment
to the growth and development of hockey and recreation for the youth of
Terrace and area.
